Zhongshan Trade and Investment Fair 2009 and Sweden-Zhongshan Business Seminar grandly opened on March 28. Under the circumstance of global economic crisis, Zhongshan receives more domestic and foreign investment this year, totaling 231 projects of 2.67 billion US dollars. Of this total, 17 foreign-invested projects are of 20 million US dollars each and 34 domestic ones are of 100 million yuan each.

Also, Sweden is invited as the country of honor this year to highlight the theme of energy saving and environmental protection on the fair. 113 Swedish and Chinese enterprises showcased their technology and products on the fair. As Mayor Li Qihong says, Zhongshan hopes to introduce advanced technology and management practice from Sweden, so as to build the city into a more livable and sustainable society.
